This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care goes to the next level and explores these pedagogical concepts in greater detail. The Diploma is geared towards creating a specialist in Early Childhood who is able to lead other Childcare and Early Learning Educators day to day, and to not only understand child development, but to be an informed practitioner who can design learning experiences that maximise children’s learning potential.

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other educators.

We have delivery options which include online only, while other study methods such as traditional face to face classroom learning or traineeship options can choose between having homework and study tasks be paper based or entirely online.

Both the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care are qualifications that can be completed comfortably within 12 months with dedicated study involvement. No matter how you choose to study the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, you will be required to complete a mandatory component of placement. The Certificate III comes with a minimum requirement of 160 hours, whilst the Diploma has a minimum requirement of 280 Hours.

These placement hours are recorded while you’re on site experiencing the world of Early Childhood Education which assists in the development of your skills, knowledge and emerging teacher pedagogies and practices.
