The CHC30121 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is a requirement for anyone who wishes to seek paid work within the early childhood sector. This is a regulated requirement from the governing regulatory body: The Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

Based off industry recommendation, our two elective units have been selected for all delivery and study options.
The two electives are as follows:

At Making Education, we use a specialised ‘Cluster’ module learning method, whereby we merge a selection of units into a single Clustered Unit.

Online Flexi-Study:
Providing the highest level of flexibility and work / study / life balance, our Online Flexi-Study option might be for you. Learn from the comfort of wherever you are and complete your placement in milestone blocks as you progress through your study.
You will engage through our online learning portal where you will have access to our eLibrary, online eLearning modules, learning extension activities and more. When you feel you’re ready, you can complete your assessments and receive online feedback from our support team.

Traineeships:
Does learning while working sound like it would benefit you?
Our traineeship program might be the perfect solution. Complete a large component of your Certificate or Diploma while employed at an Early Learning Service. Work and placements for this study option will be sourced by our Making Education team at one of our partner services.
Receive fortnightly visits for up to 2.5 hours each visit to support your learning whilst at your workplace, and engage in our online learning materials in our student portal to complete the self-paced learning component of the program.
Alternatively, if you have a designated workplace within a 50Km radius of our campus in Mulgrave, then you can elect to conduct the traineeship there. For services outside of this radius, additional fees may apply due to distances travelled by our trainers.

Face to Face:
A more traditional study option where you can experience the student life, Making Education will be opening up the classroom doors. Learn and Study on campus with in person training by our experienced trainer team.
Our CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will be running Mondays and Tuesdays 8:30am – 5:00pm during Victorian school terms, with Wednesdays being an optional open workshop study session.
Our CHC50121 – Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will be running Thursdays and Fridays 8:30am – 5:00pm during Victorian school terms, with Wednesdays being an optional open workshop study session.
Placements for this study option will be sourced by our Making Education team at one of our partner services.

Between February and November, our weekly 1-hour live support workshops will be running to provide you with the opportunity to connect with your peers, or ask questions of our highly experienced and qualified learning professionals. These online workshops follow our tri-week rotating schedule.
Week A – The Tuesday Learning Lunchbox (11:30am to 12:30pm)
Week B – The Thursday Evening Workshop (6:30pm to 7:30pm)
Week C – The Saturday Study Session (4:00pm to 5:00pm)
All students, regardless of delivery option chosen will have access to our live student support via phone between 10:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday, or alternatively via email at any time you need. A member of our eLearning support team will aim to be in contact with you within 48 hours.
Your enrolment into all of our study options will be subject to a duration of 12 months (One full time year), with the ability to extend this enrolment by up to six months at the discretion of the Making Education team if it is required. If you exhaust this timeframe, you may need to re-enrol at the expense of full tuition or pay for an extension on a unit-by-unit basis on a per unit fee.
The generally accepted length of a full time year, used for educational participation, is 1200 hours.
A typical Certificate III is 1200 hours – 1400 hours.
A typical Diploma is 1200 hours – 2400 hours.
These hours involve reading, engaging in workshops, engaging in work placement or workplace-based learning, conducting assessments, being observed and more. As such, each individual learner will have a different experience in hours and how quickly they finish.
To be successful, students should make the most of their placement hours, and meaningfully engage with the learning portal and coursework.
You should expect to be putting in at least 5 hours a week of study on top of completing your placements, learning materials and assessments.
For our Online Flexi-Study option, you will have your scheduled placement visits at the end of each Study – Block milestone. These visits of up to half a day are included in your course tuition. If further visits are needed due to not being able to demonstrate required competencies, additional fees may apply.
