This unit describes the skills and knowledge required for workers to participate in safe work practices to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others.
The unit applies to all workers who require knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) to carry out their own work, either under direct supervision or with some individual responsibility.

This course has been designed to be delivered as a refresher unit.
Early Childhood Educators complete this unit as part of their CHC30121 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
As time goes on however, we might start to slip into unsafe workplace habits.
This course is designed to deliver refresher training on how to keep yourself safe, the workplace safe, and most importantly, keeping the families and children safe under our daily care.

Students will be completing the single unit of HLTWHS001 – Participate in workplace health and safety
All enrolments are for 30 days. Failure to complete your course may result in having to rebook the course at your own expense. At the discretion of Making Education, an extension may be provided of an additional 7 days.
Students will need to meet the Selection Criteria requirements to be eligible to enter into this course. Evidence of the student meeting the Selection Criteria will be collected as part of the Enrolment process.
• To be able to successfully complete each assessment, students must have access to a current workplace in an approved early learning service or equivalent. Students are to organise this within their workplace or equivalent.
• Access to a workplace supervisor or a manager / leader / director who has relevant authority in the workplace.
• Students must have access to a digital device and be able to log into our learning management system.

You will be able to start any time and engage in your learning and study with flexibility around your current schedule.
As part of this online enrolment, you must have access to a workplace and access to a workplace supervisor or a manager / leader / director who has relevant authority in the workplace.

This unit offers the required training and assessment process for a learner to attain the unit of competency.
Unit Delivery:
Self-Paced Study: 9 hours across the entire course.
Theory Test: 1 Hour.
Case Studies: 3.5 Hour.
Workplace Project 6.5 Hours
The learner will have access to all training content, materials, and assessments for a duration of 30 Days (1 months). The learner will need to complete all learning materials and tasks before moving on to the assessment tasks. Assessment Task 1 + 2 must be completed before commencing Assessment Task 3.
